RACE REPORT: 3 PALMS - DISTRICT 20 SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP OPENER. With it being our first trip to Houston and 3 Palms I have got to say that i was VERY impressed with the facility and operation. Besides a small glitch in the sign up process for an AMA sanctioned race...it was an AMAZING race day. Where to start...well, from the start when you enter the gates you know you are entering a big time race...VENDERS galor...blow up things...and even the Magic Bus in attendance...it really had a national feel to it. I only was on the main mx track...but it was enough for my first visit there. SICK...deep sand and somewhat technical track a couple sections I never really did get down to my liking. WHOOP sized breaking bumps, BIG bowl turns, BIG tables, rythem sections, including one around a corner into the two tables at the finish line...FANTASTIC 21 motos total...and many of the gates over 20 racers. STRONG turnout for sure. The announcing was fun and could clearly hear in the pits even far from the track. Great staging area and starting procedure... Looking forward to going back for the final race in the series for the championship.
