RACISM rears its ugly head again in New York. Three African American boys waiting for school bus got arrested in New York. Their coach arrived; he (being a black man) was also threatened with an arrest by the police. I know some people out there will defend the police by saying “Come on Blackman, they’re fighting crime”, they’re just doing their job etc. This tells me that the arresting officers know nothing about section 1983 of the civil rights law. An African proverb says, “Until you go and fetch/carry your own water from the river, you’ll never know the value of a drop of water”. In other words, you’ll never know how one feels until you’re put in their situation. So before you castigate me, try being a minority in our society. Just making a point. Can we all get along?
