Dave played in the NFL for 11 years. He was a second round pick out of Penn State. Dave worked as a college football television analyst, working Southeastern Conference broadcasts syndicated by ESPN. He is currently retired. Rumor is that his Super Bowl ring will be on Display! DAVID AMERSON of the Washington Redskins will also be at camp!! David is the redskins starting Defensive back. He was a star player at Dudley High in Greensboro. David went on to NC State where in 2011 his 13 interceptions beat Dré Blys record for the most interceptions in a season in Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) history. Following the 2011 season, he received the Jack Tatum Trophy for the best college defensive back, first-team All-American honors from the Walter Camp Football Foundation and ESPN, and first-team All-ACC honors. Amerson beat Blys record at the inaugural Belk Bowl held in Charlotte on December 27, 2011, Amerson broke the record for the most interceptions in a season by an Atlantic Coast Conference competitor. This record of 13 interceptions also led the Football Subdivision during the 2011 season. He finished the game with five tackles, two interceptions, and one touchdown
