RALLY YOUR TROOPS AND GET ACTIVE OUTSIDE Spring is here, the days are getting longer, and it’s a great time to snap out of our winter hibernation and get our families more active outside. Most Colorado kids do not get physical education every day at school, so it’s up to us parents to rally the troops at home, and make sure we’re all getting the exercise we need. Family play time doesnt have to be expensive or time consuming. Just taking a walk together can be a great place to start. In my family, our walks have evolved into fun little scavenger hunts. Together we make a list of what we want to discover before we head out. Its amazing how much you can see in your neighborhood once you really open your eyes. Who would have known that my 5-year-old daughter would be so good at collecting sticks, or that my 2-year-old son would be an expert rock gatherer?
