RAMZAN...the Muslim month of fasting...has started In order to bring to bear a somewhat different point of view in a lighter mood on the belief and practice regarding this month, someone here on Facebook has described the phenomenon of Ramzan in the following way. During this Arabic month, Allah supposedly imprisons Satan (the Devil). This makes the Muslims to go en mass on hunger strike (demanding his release). When, at the end of the month, Satan is once again set free, they rejoice and celebrate in joy, hugging each other!.......As the concoctions, one might say, so the commentaries.... This reminds me of another similar commentary I had heard, which goes as follows: When Adam defied God in heaven and ate the forbidden fruit, God appointed him his vice-reagent (khalifa) on earth saying now here is someone who is able to be on his own!.....EITHER WAY IT DOESNT MAKE MUCH SENSE TO ME....Religions can be cooked up in the head to any length as unlike science they do not require substantiation or justifications...Science is much more difficult but more reliable to have as ones guide in the search for truth and realities!
