I have used a two block turned twill weave with (approx..) 10/2 cotton warp and 16/2 hand dyed silk weft. The sett I have used gives a firm fabric with enough diagonal stretch thanks to the twill threading and treadling. There are 9 different colours in the cotton warp and too many colours to count in the weft – all hand dyed by me. This gives a joyful, vibrant mix of colours which is why I chose the name Jardin des Fleurs (flower garden). I wound enough warp for just this wrap and the colour dyeing of the silk and placement in the weft make this a truly unique piece of weaving. It measures approx.. 27.5” x 4.2m, 283gsm.
