**RANT ALERT**PLEASE READ AND SHARE** ok, so Ive been stewing over this for a few days now and have briefly mentioned it but now Im ready to share my rant with the world. Apologies to @Graham Webber and Jane, who have had the range in full already!!!! :) On Wednesday Jane and I popped to Lidl for a couple of bits, its was a nice relaxing morning having just had coffee and a catch up... Anyway, in lidl and decided to have a wee vent to Mr Webber about the fact they have big baskets of nuts loose in the shop, told him if I go in with Sarah-Jane I hurry her past the nuts and cover her face as even the smell of nuts could trigger a potentially fatal reaction, add to the fact that the nuts are right under the air vents its a very stressful place to be with allergy child! Also a HUGE issue for me is the fact they provide scoops for putting nuts in bags, but yet the entire scoop sits in the basket so even if people use the scoop they are getting nut traces on their hands from the handle anyway... Anyway, its not Grahams fault so thought I better shut up and let him get on with his work... Carry on round the shop, come past the nuts again while going up next aisle...What then happened made my blood boil instantly and I wanted to throttle a fellow customer over their sheer ignorance/stupidity/selfishness whatever, if I had Sarah-Jane with me at this point I swear I would have been like a woman possessed!!!! This woman, not young not terribly old and senile, so basically old enough to know better - and technically she was shoplifting but that wasnt my issue... She wandered over to said nut basket, dug her grubby little paw into it and helped herself to a handful of nuts... not to put in a bag but to chomp as she continued on her merry way touching the trolley, raking through items in the non-food section and God knows what else along the way, therefore making things that should be safe for my highly allergic child, e.g. socks or books etc now a potential disaster. I would like everyone to share this in the hope that if you were that person spreading disaster around the shop, please take a minute to stop and think about the potential outcome of your actions, surely you were not on the brink of starvation that you desperately needed to eat those nuts as you walked around. I was angry at lidl in first place for having the loose nuts on sale but it never even crossed my mind that there was further risk until I witnessed this act of sheer ignorance and selfishness.
