RANT ALLERT!!!!! DO NOT READ if you do not want to hear me spew venom...... Took Henry out for his morning walk....he is on a leash, and we are working on his obedience commands.....school is beginning at the elementary school behind my house, and the walking path is filled with kids, parents, and dogs on leashes.....which is why I choose to walk at this time of day....lots of distractions to teach Henry how to focus. Henry is sitting calmly by my side as I am talking to a few neighbors and their dogs when OUT OF NOWHERE comes this foxhound mix with his fur up and his teeth barred aiming straight at Henry. I told Henry to wait, stepped in front of him and grabbed for this unknown dog...stupid I know, but all he would have gotten was a mouth full of fiberglass cast, or I was prepared to let him have it over the head with my cast....hell, my wrist is already broken! From beyond the bushes comes a woman holding a leash in her hands, WALKING not running, and telling Sparky to come in a conversational tone. I am holding a 50+# snarling growling dog up in the air with my broken wrist (painful) while telling Henry to stay. At this point I do not think that Sparky knows his name nor has he ever heard the word come or what it means. The woman FINALLY snaps the leash on Sparky, barely has him under control, and then tells me that it is MY fault BECAUSE Sparky, who is USUALLY friendly does not like new dogs! EXCUSE ME?????? THERE IS A LEASH LAW IN THIS TOWN....YOU ARE ON PUBLIC PROPERTY AND YOUR DOG IS UNLEASHED AND OUT OF CONTROL AND IT IS MY FAULT?????? MY DOG IS COMPLETELY UNDER CONTROL.ARGH!!!!! Henry and I resumed our walk at a quick pace while she delivered her kids to school. ARGH!!!!!!
