RANT! After being apathetic with regards politics in this part - TopicsExpress

RANT! After being apathetic with regards politics in this part of the world,in recent times Ive taken a keen interest in whats going down... This is my advocacy: Partisan or non-partisan, APC or PDP,HIV or CNN;whatever, all I care about is the CANDIDATE! Ive seen so much tussle between parties, one party attacking the others agenda and the other defending their political stance with their superficial achievement(s). However, all what any sane and altruistic citizen wants is a man who can get the job done. Just a few cares about the platform in which the candidate execute his/her intention(s). I dont care if your partys logo carries 10 thousand brooms or perhaps a worn-out umbrella! Can you get the job done? Does your value system correlate with that of a man who can lead Nigeria? Can your integrity stand the strength of our corrupt nation? If not, save your umbrella in your room and keep your broom in your kitchen! By the way,Im neither a Jonathanian or Buharian. Personally,Im tired of these old faces and dont care if any of them has a record as white as snow or if their reformative agenda of yester years surpasses all that were before or after them. Cant Nigeria do better??? I know we have younger folks who can do a remarkable Job leading this country. Please, dont get me wrong and if you choose to,all good...Im not saying these old guys have nothing to offer (theyve kuku been there before) neither am I saying the younger folks are smarter or will cause a dramatic change due to their charismatic or agile nature (that has no effect on the price of garri in the market), all Im saying is we need something new,a break from the norm,a break from the conventional,a break from this political cycle! Im glad theres now a platform like campaign.ng giving younger aspirants a shot at being responsible for their nation and I think it should be supported and commended. Thank God for Uche Chuta, Sola Kuti, Offiong Kate Henshaw, Princess Kikelomo e.t.c for taking the giant stride of saddling themselves with the responsibilty to break the norm. You can be in the comfort of your room and fault their intentions for all I care, regardless, it doesnt change the fact that they are taking deliberate steps to getting things done. Its about time the young gets more and more involved and its not just about being young but being RESPONSIBLE. These people will get my vote a million times. Nigeria is ours and not theirs! Get involved!
