RAP ROUTE ALTERED: I returned from visiting my heritage, in Colorado. Ive had the reputation for passing out in movie theaters, all my friends know this of me. I was exhausted, and was a few hours ahead from the los angelians. My brothers, insisted I go see this movie. I insisted not. They both explained how they held off on seeing this movie, because it was for me. I truly felt this would be a waste of 8 bucks, but couldnt say no after their insistence. I caved in, and went. GhostDog epitomized all that was me, metaphorically. At that time of my life, this was direction I needed, and after coming back from visiting the hierarchies of my fathers family, was apropos. It inspired me to read up on some Yamamoto Tsunetomo-hagakure, Sun Tzu-artofwar, and gain understanding of the Bushido Code through various writings. Theres a dozen reasons why this movie is forever owned, heres the first five.. 1. F.Whittaker is one of my favorite actors, and after this movie, even more so. 2. RZA scored the movie. 3. The code of the samurai, explained in modern tale. 4. Conscious plot holes that leave interpretation to the viewer. 5. and RZA scored the movie. I was about to enter a record project that would take the betterment of three years, and with a producer/sensei at the helm, a new discipline was welcomed and code of conduct was constant. I was gaining a new understanding of discipline and my partner in rhyme was training harder than ever to be his own ghostdog. I have plenty of catching up to do, but this moment taught me the universality of the code. Thanks to my brother Johnny for that. So, this morning I read something online about the movie you have always wanted to see. Well, Ive seen this, but wanted to mention it here, because its a movie many have not seen, and one that made me think, long after the closing credits. This may/may not be the movie for you... the unorthodox, spacey, undisciplined beats of the soundtrack may/may not be your thing either.. but inspiration, in any form, is universal. Thanks Burke and BP (Price), for insisting that this movie was for me. I never slept. I was inspired, redirected, and confident that whether it be through music, art or simply living out the day, that the messenger birds will deliver. #818hiphop #sfv #valleyHeart #ghostdog #samurai 818hiphop Music From Jeremiah St.Clair / OVERFLo
