RAT TRACK 2014 (With A Lot Of Help From Our Friends) As the year draws to its bumpy conclusion its time to thank everyone who has been part of the undoubted success on the track this year. It seems a long time ago that we took the track up on the Marsh following some pretty wet winter weather but it was actually just under twelve months ago. After the completion of that task we cleared the felled timber from Horsefalls followed by several weeks of bonfires. Relevelling Hollin How took us up to the start of the daily season and routine maintenance. But it was this Autumns track week where we surprised even ourselves with the numbers of people who came down to help remodel and relay Fisherground. This was our biggest track week project ever with plenty of potential for things to go belly up but for once the sun shone and we completed the work on time and within budget. This was in no small part due to the best turnout of help we have ever had for a track week. But - and its a big but - none of it would have happened without the best group of people (both staff and volunteers) who have been down to keep this fabulous little railway going. What has been particularly gratifying has been the number of new volunteers who have come down. Whether for a day at a time, or longer, we are grateful for help. What we have achieved is something to be very proud of and stands us in good stead for the years to come. So again thank you to everyone and well hopefully see you all in 2015. Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year and may your Gods go with you. Rest in peace Martin. Well get by with a little help from our Friends
