RAW PLACENTA SMOOTHIES ARE TO BE BANNED IN THE UK! URGENT HELP REQUIRED - PLEASE READ IN FULL! DACORUM BOROUGH COUNCIL HAS ISSUED IPEN WITH A PROHIBITION NOTICE OF PREPARATIONS OF RAW PLACENTA FOOD PRODUCTS. This means that with immediate effect IPEN specialits are NOT allowed to offer raw placenta smoothies and/or raw dried placenta capsules to the public. IPEN has been summoned to magistrates court this Wednesday at 10am to submit a case against this prohibition order. If the courts decide raw placenta is of too high risk to serve to the public it WILL be UK law, prohibiting the making of any raw placenta product for human consumption after birth. The Environmental Health Office case involves their assumption that during the time of birth and consumption the raw placenta may become contaminated with bacteria which could pose a high risk to human health. This is obviously a risk which we have reviewed on many levels. However for the last 3 years IPEN has implemented a number or measures in which IPEN specialists are using to ensure a mothers placenta is safe to consume raw after birth. These include a Code of Practice, an appropriate placenta care document to include in birth plans and a placenta container label. It should not be ignored that IPEN has never received any negative feedback or side effect from clients with regards to the consumption of raw placenta smoothies. (quite the opposite) WHAT CAN YOU DO TO HELP? NEEDED BY 10PM TOMORROW EVENING OR ASAP! Please can you write a letter of support for raw placenta preparations and email it to info@placentanetwork for review on Wednesday in court. Make letter to - please state your full name and address FAO: West Herts Magistrates Court Please detail your own personal experiences consuming raw placenta. Did you consume a raw placenta smoothie after birth? Did you experience benefits from consuming raw placenta? Did you suffer any negative side effects from consuming raw placenta? If not, please say so. Please also state why you feel a ban on raw placenta preparations would be devastating and extremely detrimental to the future of birthing women in this country and a violation of human rights.
