These evergreen songs give us the feeling of nostalgia and add merriment to Raya celebration. Nevertheless, continuous efforts need to be taken to increase the number of good quality Raya songs that can be considered as national treasures. We should not just depend on the old songs, but should take efforts to encourage and promote new songs to the next generation. As such, in conjunction with the Ramadan Festival 2013, the National Department For Culture And Arts (JKKN) encourages talented individuals to participate in the Raya Song Composing Competition which is now open.
