RCTP Tupange II Study City Managers Jobs in Nairobi, Machakos, Kisumu, Kakamega and Mombasa Kenya KEMRI - RCTP - FACES Program Description: Research Care and Training Program (RCTP) is collaboration between the Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI), University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), university of Washington, (UW), and University of Alabama, Birmingham (UAB). RCTP leads the Family AIDS Care and Education Services (FACES) program, a comprehensive HIV Prevention, Care and Treatment program working in 140 clinics in Kisumu, Migori and Homabay Counties, Kenya. We have the following vacancies in the Tupange II Study: Position: City Managers (6 Positions) Reports to: Survey Coordinator Location: Nairobi, Machakos, Kisumu, Kakamega, Mombasa Duration: 3 Months Vacancy No. FN-031-06-2014 Position summary: The city manager will work on the Survey under the direction of Survey coordinator and will coordinate all field activities in the given city. He/she will be responsible for the smooth functioning of the survey on a daily basis, and coordinate communication with staff and survey coordinators in the city. He/she will also work closely with the data manager to ensure that the highest data quality is upheld throughout the process of data handling under the supervision of the statistician. Additionally, he/she will compile completed interview tools/ questionnaires for shipping to the Kisumu data office Key Responsibilities and Duties: In-charge of all survey related activities in the city Coordinate communication with staff and Survey Coordinator Summarize and convey survey relevant information to the Survey Coordinator Implement quality assurance/quality control procedures Supervise staff involved in the collection of data Ensure smooth and efficient day-to-day operation of survey and data collection activities in the city Act as a link person between the survey and the local administration Ensure regularly and timely updates of data collection progress Liaise with facility in-charges and organize for interview days Prepare weekly reports on the study progress Perform any other duties as may be assigned Requirements: University degree ( Nursing, Statistics, Community health, Sociology, Anthropology, Education) and any other relevant degree with at least 2 years research experience in a supervisory position OR Higher diploma with at least 5 years research experience in a supervisory position Must have experience in handling health related data Have extensive knowledge of the geographical area under study Logistics and survey experience Knowledge and experience in GIS is an added advantage. Must have ability to work independently, in a team environment, motivating others by example yet exercise independent judgment Please indicate the preferred work station in the application.
