In the U.S. it is estimated that addiction costs no less than 600 billion annually in criminal activity; healthcare, and work productivity and ethics. In 2012, an estimated 22.6 million Americans aged 12 or older were current (past month) illicit drug users, meaning they had used an illicit drug during the month prior to the survey interview. This estimate represents 8.9 percent of the population aged 12 or older. So that is then nearly 9% of 100%. a 1 in 9 ratio in the general population has a developed and or is developing an addiction problem. The potential in these certain facts and figures leave us with this obvious quota then in mind.
