RE: Agressive dogs and the critics. I just read another note form someone ready to give up on rescue because of all t he critics hammering her due to the trainer she may be using for the given dog. Here is my advice, rather than criticizing, threatening to stop supporting, how about YOU step up and offer to take the dog and then you can have it trained anyway you wish? I am so sick and tired of these people they are nasty, bully others until those people feel defeated...if you dont like what someone is doing get up off your ASS and offer to take the dog in then. After all YOU WERE NOT the one who took the chance on the dog in the first place were you? Sometimes when people bring in dogs who may be shut down, sick what have you, once those dogs are healthy and strong, and their true character comes out, some may not be able to or can handle that. At least they tried and if you cannot help or be constructive, then STFU. If you are dealing with Pit Bulls, you may wish to keep this in mind. This is from a friend who I adore and has been training dogs for decades. I agree with her 100%. There will ALWAYS BE AN EXCEPTION, this is a general comment on the breed. People need to keep this in mind if you are bringing them into your lives. By a friend certified trainer for decades: ..... the pack instinct and their communication skills were bred out of them so they would fight their own kind. They also bred in a need and trust of humans so the handlers wouldnt get mauled.
