RE: Brat, this past week for your organization, OVERSEAS BRATS (OSB) 8/2/13. Brat Friend, Whew! Very busy week! More on that in a moment. BRAT INSIGHT: Darryl Wright (Neubrucke ES-Ulm ES-Baumholder HS) isn’t a big mover-n-shaker in the Brat world. He isn’t one of the better educated nor more sophisticated/polished of our Brats either. To those who meet him, Darryl may not impress people at first. He’s a truck driver and a mechanic by occupation. What many people don’t see is that beneath his rugged look is a diamond. And to OSB, he is one of those ‘heroes.’ Darryl joined OSB in 1993 and has done much to help any Brat he meets. At our OSB events, Darryl shows up and asks where he can help and over the years he’s been an invaluable help, either carrying equipment, assisting on the Sunday morning of a Gathering or a Homecoming, and even helping out professionally when someone’s car isn’t operating. Darryl is a great ‘worker bee’ whom enjoys being involved with his Brat friends. How impressed are people with Darryl? A few years back a few of those who knew that Darryl wanted to come to a big OSB event and he was not doing well financially , took up a collection for him to come.
