RE: Brat, this week for your organization, OVERSEAS BRATS (OSB) 7/5/13. Brat Friend, BRAT INSIGHT: Meet Brat heroine Pat McCarroll Wood. Back in 1989, Pat read something about OVERSEAS BRATS (OSB) and inquired. When a regional event happened in her backyard hosted by OSB, she took the chance and came, and ever since has been involved as a sustaining member (highest membership category) of OSB. Through OSB Pat reconnected with her Nurnberg Alumni Assn. and now plays a role with that alumni group. Whenever something happens in San Antonio involving Overseas Brats or Military Brats, you can find Pat there, because she has made quite a number of Brat friends. Pat frequently discovers Military or Overseas Brats like us and she now refers them to OSB. Thanks to Pat, a number of these are now connected with their respective alumni groups or are now involved with OSB. DID YOU KNOW: In 2001, a Brat who was the Commanding General of the Army Reserve 89th ARCOM asked how he could help with Homecoming 2001 and the ground breaking of the American Overseas Schools Historical Park in Wichita? Joe jokingly suggested getting an Army band to show to play the theme to, “Hogan’s Heroes” to greet Brats & Educators. We’ll we got the band, but instead of playing the theme, to “Hogan’s Heroes” they played, “Gary Owen,” a traditional hail/farewell Army march.
