RE: Gambo Lawan Where were you? When I posted a piece on the above subject, as fair a question as it is that an electorate is entitled to ask a gubernatorial candidate especially when the candidate has been away for a decade or more from a state and is now back to solicit for the citizens vote, the post stirred a storm of issues that left many people wondering why some people will seemingly, and often illogically, leap to the defense of those who otherwise should be chastised, ridiculed or, heaven forbid, educated. But then, its simple-when human desire, sometimes unconscious, appears consistent and basically falls within the realm of what is termed “commitment-consistency principle.” Even with the fact that my position was validated and substantiated by the very candidates that competed with Gambo Lawan that they also raised that very question about the likelihood of him succeeding if chosen, the blind supporters chose to press their “psychological override button” and that made them put their ability to reason into neutral mode and just act, or react, in a way that appears consistent with their earlier position. Sadly their commitment-consistency dilemma was (or should I say is) plagued by 1. Inability to critically assess the weaknesses and strengths of the candidate and 2. Their blind support without having to access and update themselves with information about happenings within their domain, situations which all culminated to not only embarrass them but depicts the ugly fact about how our youths just follow the pack without reasoning. And as it is now Gambo Lawan has been unceremoniously substituted by Mohammed Iman probably due to the very reason upon which I raised my questions to him...embarrassing to those blind supporters isnt it? Well I guess they see it not as they bask in the commitment-consistency comfort zone. before I or anyone ask the next question/s I urge us not to indulge in blind, unreasonable yet myopically baseless support which at the end of the line doesnt add up to anything but rather embarrasses and wastes time. Like herds of cattle they were pushed to support Gambo Lawan, then intermittently Kashim Imam and now Mohammed Imam ( in confusion they are juggled along)... Even at that those that pull these youths long the path of confusion from behind the scene still hypocritically come to Kashim Shettima for gratification...Question is Who is fooling Who?
