RE: NEGLECT OF OLEH COMMUNITY: ENOUGH IS ENOUGH It is now common knowledge that well meaning Oleh sons and daughters recently came together to halt the flagrant neglect of Oleh community by all her elected representatives. Mr. Victory Oghenerabome Odize might have made the lead post but let it be known to the whole world that all well meaning Oleh sons and daughters saw and endorsed the post before it was released. I feel very sad as some people are trying to politicize the genuine questions raised by Oleh indigenes with regards to how poorly she has been treated in the current political dispensation (2011- date) For the avoidance of doubt, Oleh has ELECTED Reps at the following levels: Level Position Current Rep Ward Councillors 4 APPOINTED caretaker committee members LG Chairman An APPOINTED caretaker committee chairman State Constituency DTHA member Hon. Okiemute Essien (ELECTED) Federal Constituency House of Rep member Rt. Hon Leo Ogor (ELECTED) Senatorial District Senator Senator James Manager ( ELECTED) State Governor Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan (ELECTED) National President Dr. Goodluck Jonathan (ELECTED) For obvious reasons, we did not call on our councilors and caretaker committee chairman to give account of their stewardship to Oleh. They were APPOINTED. At the appropriate time, we may ask them. We however, questioned all our ELECTED REPS at all levels Mr President(for very obvious reasons) and Hon Essien which I know was pure oversight on our part as a community. Therefore, to allege that our genuine agitation is aimed at a particular rep is highly mischievous and a calculated attempt to derail our genuine agitation for more government presence in our community. To Governor Uduaghan, we asked, 1. Why was the Delta state govt more interested in donating infrastructure to UNN when our own Delta State University has suffered loss of accreditation? 2. Why has Emore road not been completed even as his administration wind down 3. Is it true that the rumour making the rounds that he is set to impose a House of Assembly candidate on the good people of Isoko South 1 with his preferred candidate from a community that is currently enjoying various govt patronage as board chairman, commissioner etc and with a voting strength that is about 1/5th of the voting strength of Oleh? If so why? Regrettably, Dr. EEU nor any of his aides has deem it fit to give answers to any our questions. If we conclude that he does not cherish the votes of the Oleh people with the highest voting strength in Isoko, I think no one can fault us. Governor EEU sir, we are still calling on you to prevail on DESOPADEC, the Emore Road Contractor and do all you can to ensure that Emore road is completed before you will need the Oleh people’s support at the polls early next year. If the Emore road remains as it is today, that will be one big monument campaigning against you sir. To Senator Manager, we asked: 1. Sir, why have we not felt your presence at all in Oleh? We know that even if you were to contest an election against President Jonathan in Emevor, yours will be a landslide victory because you have empowered Mr. Otobo Elliot Ugbome who has, through your office as Chairman of Senate committee on NDDC influenced impact projects to Emevor. 2. Senator, we remind you again, are you aware what the votes and support of Oleh can do to your electoral fortunes? The votes of Oleh alone are equal to the votes of about 5, 6 communities in Isoko. So why have you not influenced any projects to Oleh sir? All the NDDC projects in Isoko, other than those in Emevor, we have some other people laying claims to their credit even though we know that you and especially Mutu refused to be Principal officers so you can use your highly lucrative positions as Chairmen of the NDDC to develop your area of which we are aware that your fellow colleagues run to you to lobby you so they can get jobs from NDDC. We urge you sir to please speak out now if you have influenced any projects to Oleh. If you have not sir, it is not too late. We have a pool of competent and capable Oleh persons from which you can make an Eliot Otobo Ugbome from. Sir, you need a PA from Oleh who will tell you our needs so you can begin to attend to them between now and December. You still have time sir. To Rt. Hon Leo, we asked: 1. Sir, why has the Ozoro Polythecnic felt your impact more than the Delsu, Oleh Campus even though they are both state owned institutions and you are Rep for the whole Isoko and not Ozoro alone? Fair play to you sir. Of all the Reps we asked questions, only members of your team have attempted provide answers if though some of the answers are unconvincing and some of them borders on untruths for which I will not blame your aides because they have defended you with the information at their disposal. Sir, we are grateful to your for influencing that appointment of our leader, Hon. M.O.C Eto as a member of the Federal Complaint Commission. Thank you sir. However, one of the problems I personally have with your representation or perhaps how your media team handles your issues online is that they sometimes try to give you credit where even when such credit is certainly not due you. An example is when one of your social media aides attempted to make the unsuspecting Isoko public believe that a project going on at the Ozoro polytechnic was a personal project from your pocket. Mr. Donbrado Isuosuo had to take the pains of going to the project site to snap a picture showing that the client of that particular project was NDDC and that was how that misinformation was buried. Recently, were it not for the very vigilant Andy Ogeili, erstwhile President of National Union of Isoko Students, Uniben Chapter and Chief Whip of the Student Union Parliament, Uniben Chapter, Nelson Egware had prepared the grounds to make the unsuspecting Isoko people believe that the soon to be commenced works on the Ala Square, Ozoro was your handiwork from your personal pocket. Sir, I have mentioned the above instances out of many others because of the annoying comment by Okah Fidelis that an oleh son who got employed at the National Airspace Agency was due to your influence. The claim is even more annoying sir, giving that the boy in question was a classmate to Obaro Itewo and I and we both know how he got the job, yet Obaro was subtly referring to “a job in Oleh” in an attempt to give you the credit. Sir, between you and God, you know the role you played in that job so if you told Okah or anyone that you are the one who influenced that job for that boy, then we now know better the claims of your influence for about 150 + jobs for our people. Just so we bring the issues home sir, if we analyzed the value of the projects you have influenced to Ozoro Poly and Ozoro community in general, and put them side by side with projects credited to you in Oleh, even a blind observer will agree with us that they are not at par at all. Sir, can you give us any reasons for this inequality given that Oleh, is one of the major contributors to the funds of NDDC from where you influence more than 95% of your projects? We are hereby urging you sir to redress this inequality immediately before this current regime winds down. We will like to remind you now sir, that Oleh people have the highest voting strength in Isoko and we are currently in the process of making our votes very priced by putting our house, irrespective of political differences, in order. As for Hon. Essien, we will beam the searchlight on his representation and how Oleh has faired under him soon. Oleh Awhara Ado Wha Dhe? God Bless Oleh Kingdom
