RE-THREE APC GUBERNATORIAL CANDIDATES ON MY NECK; MY VERDICT AND THE WINNER IS,......... About two days ago I sought your opinion on whom among the three APC gubernatorial candidates I should volunteer to support given that all of them had at one time or the other rendered some commendable services to me either in their personal, or official capacities. To be frank, prior to my seeking of your advise, I was not in any difficulty or dilemma to easily choose whom among them, I should volunteer to support. But for a robust discourse, and intellectual entertainment, I thought I should involve you my good friends. Just as I stated yesterday, 26 friends made quality comments, with 7, or 8 merely liked the discourse. I must admit, with the quality of the comments, and personalities involved, I am honoured. Back to the main business of the day; based on the quality of the contributions, I must confess I found it difficult to come out with a clear winner. However, because their must be one, I have no choice. But just before that, I must restate that, in competition there are rules, and instructions that participants must abide by, and there are also sanctions to anybody that goes against these rules, or conditions. This one is no exception. You would all recall that when making my case, I categorically stated that all participants MUST abide by two conditions/rules. These rules are; 1) there must not be answers/ comments based on sentiments, or emotions. When for instance you say that I have to support a candidate because we are from the same town, or because he has helped me as a person, or because we belong to the same religion, or tribe with that person; that simply confirms that you are simply being sentimental, personalistic, and emotional. 2) I also made it as a precondition that the candidate to emerge among the three, MUST be a General Muhammadu Buhari compliant. Consequently, any winner to emerge must comply with these conditions/rules in his, or her comments. For ease of reference all participants are categorized into three categories. For instance (i.e), those that are disqualified, those that mainly made general/philosophical comments, and the third category are those who made comments in support of either of the three aspirants. Accordingly, nine (9) contestants are here by disqualified for their defiant of the conditions/rules so stipulated. Those personalities are; Sani Nasidi, Ahmad Dankani, Bashir T. Saeed, Aliyu Kera, Yusuf Kajuru, Baban Gamma Muharram, Haruna Daddau, Nasiru S. Yunusa, and Muhd Harisu. The participants that made general comments without mentioning, or advising, or making preference for a particular candidate are also nine (9) and they are, Sanusih A. S. Maikudi, Mustapha Malam, Ibrahim Liman, Hauwa M Abbas, Shehu Isa Kajuru, Hassan Aliyu, Ahmad Rufai Abdulmumini Kajuru, Dahiru Adamu, and Muktar Sirajo. I most commend the efforts of some of the above philosophers for they made quality philosophical advise and contributions. The third category is made up of the participants who have made specific preference to either of the three aspirants. That is, they advised me on particular candidate I should support. They are eight in number. It is out of those eight personalities that the winner of my dialogue will emerge. Based on my critical analysis, two participants seem to have impressed me the most. Those are, Zubairu Iliyasu and Ogbeni Mule. A critical analysis and evaluation of their contributions is rich in appraisal of the contribution of each of the three gubernatorial candidates, and they both gave advice on who to support, and why the candidates of their choice should be supported. Their advises are, altruistic, devoid of sentiment, personal interest, and devoid of any other primordial interest. In other words, it is their view that, among the three candidates on my neck, the best among them is who from the record of my account while in office enthroned a system based on due process, rule of law, devoid of long leg and godfatherism. It is the view of those two participants that if every Nigerian can be treated on the bases of equality, his, or her talent and be rewarded accordingly, the country shall be a better place for all. I have no difficulty in concurring with the views of those two gentlemen that, while my relationship with Haruna Saeed despite what he may seemed to have done for me is personal, the same thing apply to Hon. Isa Ashiru; however the government patronage I was able to benefit in ALC, was as a result of an institutional reform embarked by Nasiru El-Rufai, which has clearly negated the Nigerian norm where long leg, and godfatherism are the prerequisites for getting government patronages. For sure, all what we need in Kaduna state, and Nigeria at large, is a system of governance that rewards efficiency, hard work, which denounces godfatherism, long leg, and promotes the enthronement of due process, where you do not have to know anybody before you can get things done, in so far you are qualified. A special tribute to Zubairu Iliyasu, despite the fact that he also hails from Kajuru, he is the only participant from this same town that summoned the courage and dispassionately did justice to my dialogue. Since it is only one person that must win my token price, consequently, the winner of this quiz/dialogue is Ogbeni Myle; who seem to be more analytical on his approach to the discourse under discussion. He shall get the #2, 000 worth of GSM airtime of his choice. Although there is no provision for a runner-up price, given the wonderful performance of Zubairu Illiyasu, I have decided to create one, and rewards him with#1, 000 worth of airtime of his choice. Ordinarily, my friend Mitd Ubi Patrick would have been considered among the shortlisted contestants, but for his unwholesome attitude of trying to impose his choice, and undue confrontation, and interference to other participants comments, this rendered his contributions not worthy of consideration. Please both Ogbeni, and Zubairu are to indicate their airtime of choice, so that the airtime can be sent to them via their message box. I want to again thank all the participants for their quality contributions. My special thank how ever goes to Sanusih A. S. Maikudi, Mustapha Malam, Dahiru Adamu, Mukhtar Sirajo, Abdulmalik Durunguwa, and others, to mention, but a few.
