RE: Technical Submission Ferns in the Sky. The beautiful green - TopicsExpress

RE: Technical Submission Ferns in the Sky. The beautiful green of the ferns and the warm amber of the setting/rising sun made me think this would make a great Blend Mode Composite. I blended them with the amber layer on top which worked great except it unnecessarily muted the vibrant green fern colors. The solution was a technique I often time use to give graphics a bit of POP. When using the Blend Modes you usually have areas that are either darker or lighter than the original background layer. To use this to enhance your graphic try this. Put your flattened composite as the top layer. Your lower background layer will be a copy your original photo i.e. the Fern photo. Optional: Add a Layer Mask to the top layer Either Paint away or Erase selective parts of the upper layer (Use a very soft brush and low flow) to revealing the lower layer. In this case the muted green color of the ferns were restored to their original brilliance. I will submit a tech article better describing that specific technique used in this article.
