RE: Time To Change. I think psychiatry has been plagued with poor resources, both lack of investment and poor medicines but billions are now being spent on redressing this. The widespread public prejudice meant that all too often psychiatrists themselves felt unable to speak out in behalf of those in their care. Under the circumstances, I apologise for choosing words carelessly over this. I accept that the vast majority of people, including psychiatrists do there best for others and act with benevolent intentions. The Time To Change campaign is very welcome, but perhaps the whole area of neuroscience, psychology and psychiatry needs overhauling as in fact seems to be happening. I am very sorry to have been so disingenuous to psychiatry; it is not the people as much as the system itself that has been the problem. Too many of the medicines currently in use in psychiatry cause serious diseases and premature death. Fortunately I am not taking any of those medicines at this time and I feel that I am being treated fairly although I would like my own flat. I do find it difficult to live completely alone and on Cornwall I never received enough help because of the lack of resources that afflict that county. At times I have been deeply fearful because I have felt that I was in danger many times since very early on in life owing to threats other people made and inappropriate things I was exposed to. This leaves psychological trauma that I am seeing a psychologist about. As for the worlds collective narrative; I have always hoped for a peaceful world but I can only give my version of how the world may have begun; whether others accept it or not is for them to decide. Plainly, the majority of us fall short of the mark on many aspects of our lives.
