RE: // true story. when ii was 13, living in houston-3rd ward. a friendly game of hoops with my good friend got heated. we exchanged words. no biggy, so ii thought. we were tighter than tight + did everything together. then he said, wait here + went upstairs to his apartment. he lived with his dad who lived above my aunt. our families knew each other. so he comes down with a rod iron + cracks me on the back of my head. ii fall to the ground. blood is everywhere. my aunt + uncle take me to the hospital. 70 stitches later and ii am scarred for liife. ii never saw my so called friend again. immediately after the incident my dad sent for me to liive with him in dallas. he was concerned ii was becoming too unruly + undisciplined. (in hindsight this is the one decision of many ii am most proud of my dad for making on my behalf-even though at the time ii despised him for it) for years, revenge to hurt or kill dude/or his dad was the only thing on my mind. it wasnt until my 30s that ii finally forgave them for what he did to me. thats when the self-awareness + @wakening began. had ii had a stronger sense of self + charACTer as my 13 year old self, ii sincerely believe things wouldve played out differently, leaving both me + my friend friendly + scarless. this is why ii do what ii do. #iiamcoachmiike #iicoachcharACTer #savedbyscar
