REACT and EPA Outreach to Our Community; Yearlings Club site of public dialogue ======= The EPA heard an earful as they ponder next steps in forming new Clean Air regulations. Sample points made include: * what does shelter in place mean? * a One-Stop emergency info center is needed * West Louisville needs an emergency evac plan * Air Pollution Control needs to respond better to complaints of smells * pm and weekend monitoring is needed Much of the discussion centered around railroad safety and the security of RR storage yards. Despite the common complaint of an out of control EPA, the sentiment tonight is that the EPA saves lives and the environment. Anyone interested in attending an EPA Hearing in Atlanta - most expenses paid - contact Tom Pierce at the local Sierra Club. BTW, we have the second dirtiest air in the nation, so there should be great interest in this.
