READ ALL ABOUT IT: NEW ERA NEWSPAPER By Pinehas Nakaziko WINDHOEK-Namibian Kwaito artist, Boet Jonas, also known as Boet, is releasing his first studio album Unexpected Arrival early next month. Soon after dropping his collection, History, at the end of last year, Boet has been eager about it. “I call it the collection rather than an album due to the mixture of sounds that is found in the songs. Even though I was generally a Kwaito artist, mainly because I am crazy about music in general, I will always change the shoe-type so-to-speak,” explains Boet. He says his long awaited album is expected to arrive in the country soon from duplication printing in South Africa. “It has been a long time coming and my fans have been waiting for this moment to arrive. This album is unexpected and I’m arriving to claim my spot, hence I titled it ‘Unexpected Arrival’,” says the kwaito superstar. “The 19-track album has all the tracks that people would want to listen without skipping a single song,” he adds with confidence. Tracks from the album include Ebuffalo featuring Mabuzza and 2ko & Koxa; Tate Na Meme, Molukanda featuring Zulla Peace and Hard Work featuring Satlam, Neslow and Omsaane Niihana. “To listen to some of my songs on radios, music lovers should request or tune into Energy 100 FM, Namibia Broadcast Corporation (NBC) National Radio, Omulunga Radio, Base FM, Ohangwena Community Radio and 99FM,” he entices fans. Boet is inspired by South African kwaito artist, Bricks, and his songs have a different taste when listening to them. Currently he is signed under Certified Entertainment and Racio Decidenti CC, well-known music productions in Namibia owned by Jonas Noah Nghilinganye. Boet’s music career started in 2012. He says even though at first everything was just about the fame, he realised he could tell a story through music. In 2013, his performances were restricted to big events and high schools until he moved to Windhoek to pursue his music career that only revived in 2014. His major performances were last year at the Ongwediva Trade Fair, Oshakati Totem Expo, Miss Oshakati, Windhoek End- New Year Bash, Tsumeb Copper Festival and the University of Namibia (Unam) Cultural Festival. One of the few songs that kick-started his career was My Life, and Onghalamwenyo featuring Buju and Luka Basta.
