READ MY TEARS LET OUR EYES PRAY He was on the bed turning, struggling and fighting with his hands. Sweats pouring from all the pores of his fair skin. Theses words came falling from his mouth It is for me. Not for you. Give me the bag. God gave it to me. It is for me. Not for you. His son, who was sleeping close to him woke up due to the sound of his voice. He tapped his dad on the arm Daddy! Daddy!! His dad calmed down at once like the troubled sea great Jesus commanded to be still. Who were you dragging a bag with? 12 years old Tom asked his dad as he sat on the bed. His dad, rose slowly, looked at his soaked skin and cleaned the beads of sweats almost dripping on his face. God! What kind of dream is this? He said almost in a whisper as he looked at the ceiling wishing he could see God to give him an answer. Daddy, you were dragging a bag with someone. And it seemed you were fighting Yes, I was dragging a bag with someone. But I could not see his face. The face was not familiar but the voice sounded close. What do we do now? Did you succeed in taking the bag? Tom asked curiously with great intent. In that moment, his dad started crying as he said to his son whom he alone has been singlehandedly bringing up since his mum ran away with another man to the UK 5 years ago. He recalled how the journey of life has been so tedious for him. Things seemed not to be working out for him. And each time he is close to any success or breakthrough, a nightmare will come and just like a pack of cards, everything will crumble. He had bidded for a contract in Seplat. And was told to come and collect feed back that morning. Now this dream came. He was thinking aloud, with tears streaming down his eyes. His son just held his hands God, what are you telling me? That you will not give me a miracle? How can I call you God when you want me to do all things by myself? This is not my battle. This is your fight His son hushed him. Daddy, its okay. Let us pray. At least, God still answers prayers. The falling tears could not let the eyes to close their doors. Tom closed his eyes as they both knelt down by the big mattress. Daddy, pray for us Dear father He prayed My enemies are pursuing everyday, they dont want me to live my destined life. What have I done to deserve this hardship God? Why have you turned your back on me? Why have you forsaken me? Why have you... His son hushed him again. Dad, its ok When he realised his dad could not stop to cry. And as he was about to pray, his own voice started to quake. As he squeezed his father hands in his trying to control his emotions The spring in his own eyes burst open And both dad and son continued to cry. They both knelt down crying for !out a minute, till his dad found his voice In Jesus name we have prayed Tom said Amen Sometimes, things will be so difficult that we will start asking or wondering if God still cares. In that moment, dont you give up. In that moment when your mouth can not pray, let your eyes pray. God understands every words spoken by our tears. As many of us that are in the situation where we need to talk to God but our mouth can not do it, may God read our tears. Amen. S. Maka
