READ: Nothing else on earth brings all of society together like a football on a Brazilian beach by Jack Reynolds With just one month left till the start of the World Cup, we thought wed re-share this great blog from Jack Reynolds (aka @OurManInBahia) one of the FBB Brazil project leads based in Salvador de Bahia this year, running our Legacy projects. And there is football, at all times and everywhere. On my first day, I walk home for hours in the pouring rain along the beach front. One of the busiest beaches in the world is almost deserted. All but one of the myriad of collectives who use the beach have gone elsewhere. The beach bums, the sun worshippers, the drinkers, the families, the perverts, the seducers, the volleyball players, and the joggers are nowhere to be found. Only one group remain – the footballers. At various intervals along the five mile stretch of beach, the football games continue – dampened but not perturbed by the relentless rain.
