READ THIS as Pete and Buster remind all of us of the power of deep and abiding friendship supported by the loving kindness of strangers. The HOLIDAYS are a good time to reflect on what really matters in life---like precious connections that bring us comfort and priceless joy. Like so many of us, Pete fell on hard times. To maintain 9 year old Busters health and life, Pete placed him in an animal shelter and walked five miles a day from his own homeless shelter to be with best friend Buster, working for free around the shelter to give back as best he could. Petes goal was to find paying work and get back on his feet, but as you know, this can be so difficult these days. His devotion to his canine BFF and his desperate search for a source of livelihood hit the news and waves of strangers reached out to help him as well as the shelter. Fast forward, thanks to funds raised by people who cared, Monday he will have a little apartment to call his own, has just scored a new job, and most importantly, he and his beloved companion, will be re-united just in time for Christmas. So, heres a shout out to anyone out there who helped this man. Me? Im donating money to the shelter that provided for Buster while Pete was living at the mission. Theyre angels for being there for Buster and all of our furry friends who need love and support. Lets all be grateful for every loving bond we have in our lives. These are lifes priceless gifts. How about YOU? Friends, family, furry companions--- who are YOU grateful for? Now, if youll excuse me. My German Shepherd buddy Five O is head-butting me for attention and that paw is up on my lap signaling me to get up, get outdoors and throw that ball! usatoday/story/news/nation-now/2014/12/19/inspiration-nation-homeless-man-dog-reunite-thanks-to-strangers/20652391/
