REALIZING THE HASH TAG: #Anyoukarimojong Developing from Arukol Emmanuel Roberts post, and a wealth of other discussions from the KDF family, we culminate in to this; KARAMOJA DEVELOPMENT FORUM (KDF): #AnyouKarimojong campaign Founded in January 2010 as an online platform seeking to increase public participation and promote fair debate on critical social, political, economic and environmental issues in both national and regional forums, KDF stands out as the largest online social media group, now registered legally and evolving as a think (& do) tank in Karamoja, bringing fresh ideas and bold action to the most pressing social, political, economic, and environmental issues of our time. Realizing the need for a people owned action plan and grassroots movement in development and transformation; Recognizing the emerging current development indicators in the Karamoja region; Aware, specifically, that the people (indigenous) are not involved in all processes aimed at exploiting minerals and acquiring land in the region; Cognizant of the fact that a development which is not people owned and centered is destined to fail; Also appreciating the fact that land and natural resources are God-given, Karimojong have every right to live on their land, utilize their resources to support human kind and livelihoods and share it accordingly with the rest of humanity while living a dignified life; Acknowledging that something needs to be done #NOW, and with one voice, with a sense of belonging commit to supporting processes supporting underprivileged and affected communities in Karamoja; Appreciating both the calls and the need to do more on the ground; Now therefore, start a fundraising and action campaign to and from KDF members and others to support a number of activities towards our #AnyouKarimojong campaign: 1.
