REALTORS® FOCUS ON EQUAL AND ETHICAL SERVICE As part of an ongoing commitment to continuing education, the Ulster County Board of REALTORS® presented a two-day course on “Equal and Ethical Service for Today’s Consumer” on September 10 and 11. The course, which focuses on changing demographics and the skills needed to treat all clients equally and ethically while demonstrating respect for their cultural differences, is part of the required curriculum for the Graduate, REALTOR® Institute designation. It also fulfills the Code of Ethics training requirement for REALTOR® membership and the fair housing training requirement for New York State real estate license renewal. For more than 100 years, REALTORS® have subscribed to the National Association of REALTORS® Code of Ethics, which spells out the professional responsibilities and expectations of NARs one million REALTOR® members to their clients, customers, fellow REALTORS® and the general public. REALTORS® are also on the front lines of fair housing rights and opportunities. By practicing their profession with fairness and integrity, they strengthen the reality of fair housing laws. Throughout the year, UCBR members have access to continuing education courses that help them stay up-to-date on the latest techniques and practices to provide the best service to their clients.
