REALity Check..... It happened in Longs the other day, on an otherwise drama-less task of looking for AA batteries. Found the carousel, spun it around a couple of times and realized the batteries I wanted were displayed way down on the last row at the bottom of the carousel... just above the floor... So I crouched down and picked out what I wanted. .....and then, couldnt get back up!... what the hell?...I reached out for the carousel, hoping I could purchase support and get back up that way, but the damned thing started tilting!!...so I let that plan go... and landed ingloriously on my arse! Totally humiliated at this point, I began crawling on the floor, trying to get my feet under me, when two massive arms lifted me up from behind with a voice that said I got cha..... As it turned out, the arms and the voice belonged to one of the most handsome braddahs Ive ever seen....(the be-still-oh-my-heart kind!)..... so batting my eyelashes (as much as I can anymore)... I said, Oh, wow..thank you..... .....to which he sweetly replied.... No worries! We gotta take care of our kupuna!....... and sauntered off...... KUPUNA???.... by turns, Im still laughing (and probably will be for a long time)...and crying...and laughing again at the circumstances.... feeling honored...and indignant...and honored again..... and while I thank the Lord for sending me such a beautiful angel to help me get back off the floor, I grouse that He had NOT prepared me for the outcome..... P.S If you guys find yourselves shopping in Longs...please tell them to move the AA batteries higher up on the carousel so us old farts can reach them without causing incident!!
