REBRANDING OF NAMES Before he was laicized Doctor David Muhia Githii a one time moderator of P.C.E.A and a gubernatorial candidate kiambu county had suggested change of some names that he thought had a bad meaning all together and were devilish.Some included P.C.E.A ituramiro in gatundu,P.C.E.A Kiangoma in nyeri,wanyee and gatina in dagoretti,kihuyo in nyeri and Menengai in nakuru.(menengai means a place of skulls in maa language.Surprising enough,the list missed name...s in Murang’a county since P.C.E.A classifies our county as a Nendeni area.The church in Kangema has roots in kanyenyaini(led by family of retired magistrate kamau.loals call him Kamau njanji and her wife a retired teacher mrs kamau)and at kangema led by the family of waita.actually here it is a family church as once they had hosted the church in their compound for a couple of years.The move by githii is welcome.The first to be rebranded should be maragua-why?the name stands for to fail in kikuyu.No wonder the constant poor performance at maragua as a whole.Students justify their poor performance due to their origin.Kiangage should follow suit.Their is a serious problem of jigger menace in the area as the name stands for a place of jiggers.Mihuti depicts hunger. The area is ever in the news in people being given relief food.After we are through with rebranding names of places,we proceed in rebranding individuals and ban all this names all together names such as Murage(the killed one),wang’ombe,ng’ombe,njau,gacau,(to stop people from thinking like cows),Njoka(minyoo or roundworms)Mbogo,(BUFALLO)Ngatia(lion),nguku(chicken) Wanjohi,kinyua,muriuand even wambugu.The rebranding will help especially when people vie for political posts.Any one with such a name has a disadvantage as his opponents will make mince meat from his name. Githii also raised the issue of gayism claiming that there are some reverends whom are gay.Yeah that is wrong according to the bible.God created adam and eve not adam and steve.Jesus was born and raised in family of Mary and joseph but not Mary and Josephine.But what did he do to the pastors when he was a moderator? The issue of signs n the church associating them with masonic-ism is neither here or there.
