Timing is important when youre seeking to know Gods will. Wait until He opens the door, because what he opens no one can shut, and what he shuts no one can open (Revelation 3:7 NIV). Impatience or acting independently of God or rushing in where angels fear to tread will get you into trouble. God doesnt ask for your opinion, He asks for your obedience. Red lights are part of His strategy. A closed door is as important as an open door when God is in control. He closed the doors to Paul at Asia and Bithynia, then opened the door for him at Macedonia (see Acts 16:6-10). Heed the umpires call. The Holy Spirits role is vital; He alone knows Gods mind and takes the guesswork out of the search. Jesus said, When...the Spirit of truth..es, He will guide you into all the truth...He will disclose to you what is to come (John 16:13 NAS). Develop a heightened sensitivity to the Holy Spirits promptings by consulting Him on small issues. Remember, you dont have to be an authority on theology; youre already fully qualified! The Bible says, The true children of God are those who let Gods Spirit lead them (Romans 8:14 NCV). He will bring a deep peace to your heart once He gets you on track. Let the peace...from Christ rule (act as umpire continually) in your hearts [deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds] (Colossians 3:15 AMP). Let Gods peace in your heart make the calls all along the way. That way youll never go wrong.
