RECRUITMENT OF A PROJECT PROCUREMENT ANALYST I.D.B. REGIONAL OFFICE OF DAKAR Job Purpose : The Islamic Development Bank (I.D.B) is an International Financial Institution established in pursuance of the Declaration of intent issued by the Conference of Finance Ministers of Muslim Countries held in Jeddah in 1973 to foster the economic development and social progress of member countries. Actually the membership consists of 56 member countries. The Bank was formally opened on October 20th 1975. The Bank’s Headquarters are located in Jeddah in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. The Regional Office of Dakar was opened in 2008 and covers a constituency of 11 countries: Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Gambia, Guinea Bissau, Guinea Conakry, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo. In order to strenghten its internal capacity, the I.D.B is looking for a talented and experienced staff, citizen from the countries under the constituency referred to above, for permanent Dakar-based local position of Project Procurement Analyst. The incubent will work as a technical Staff receiving all functional assignments and technical guidance on Project Procurement matters/issues from the Division Manager, Project Procurement; to provide operational and analytical support on all Project Procurement matters and support implementation of Project Procurement arrangement under Bank financed operations. Educational Qualifications: Bachelor level Degree in related fields (Engineering, Law, Business Administration). Advanced Degrees are highly preferable. Language Skills: English and French. Arabic is an additional advantage. Years of Experience: Minimum five (5) years Nature of Experience: • Proven analytical and evaluative skills, including the ability to independently provide well researched analyses of key project procurement issues and problems. • Ability to carry out necessary analysis of project procurement issues to support decisions making by Senior Procurement Staff. • Ability to carry out supervision work to ensure that projects procurement management systems are functioning appropriately, including the review of periodic interim reports for project procurement related activities.
