RED or BLACK- what is it..? Well Sunday week (27th of October) Don/Ash GAA along with near neighbours and huge rivals Skyrne GFC are hosting a “Red or Black” night in the Donaghmore Dome (Don/Ash GAA Club). It’s set to be a brilliant night’s craic and at the end of it all one lucky person could walk away with €5,000 cash or a substantial consolidation prize! “What in the name of god is “Red or Black?” I hear you ask. Red or Black is a roulette-style game based on the popular TV game show. Audience members must buy a ticket (available from any members of both clubs for €20) which automatically enters them into the game. Each round will consist of a contest between a red team and a black team. Before each round audience members will choose either Red or Black; with those who backed the winning team advancing to the next round. The option to buy back in for €5 will be available for the first two rounds. After each round half of the audience will be eliminated until only one person remains. They will then spin the wheel for a chance to win €5,000! Who can milk a cow the fastest? (Skryne are naturally massive favourites for this event!) Which parish priest can do the fastest supermarket sweep? Will the Girls come to the fore in the Tug o’ War and drive the men to victory? Have the past and current talent of Meath Trevor Giles and Brian Menton got what it takes to win the goal kicking competition? But there’s only one question that really matters… Red, or Black? There will also be plenty other things going on throughout the night. The bar will be set up in the arena with a DJ playing after the event. Food will be available during the night. Also, for the first time in the arena, a NEW cocktail bar will be set up. Other invited guests are two of Ashbourne United’s finest soccer players (Christy “The Terrior” Doran & Gavin ”Coco” Hopkins), Ashbourne’s Pro Darts player James Keogh, Don/Ash & Skyrne Footballers, Hurlers, Camogie and ladies football players from both clubs. This is set to be an historic night for both clubs so be sure to be a part of it.
