REDS FIRE DUSTY BAKER Dusty Baker is out as manager after six seasons with the Reds, a team source said Friday morning. Baker, 64, had a year remaining on his contract. He led the Reds to a 90-win season. They lost in the Wild Card game on Tuesday. Reds general manager Walt Jocketty said in the aftermath of the 6-2 loss to Pittsburgh Pirates Tuesday that he "thinks" Baker will be back. Baker was at Great American Ball Park on Wednesday. He did not reply to message left through an Reds employee Owner Bob Castellini did not return messages Wednesday or Thursday. Baker had the ninth-best winning pct. (.524) among Reds managers who were around at least a full season. He ended his campaign in Cincinnati with a record of 509-463. Baker, 64, signed a two-year extension after last season. He has led the Reds to the playoffs in three of the last four years. But each of his playoff teams were eliminated in the first round of the postseason each year. In 20 seasons as a manager in the National League, only his 2002 San Francisco Giants won the National League
