REDVEIN ABUTILON. I’m familiar with Abutilons that have flowers in colors ranging from orange to yellow to red to rose and even lilac blue. But this one, blooming today in a Eureka neighborhood, stopped me in my tracks. Not only are the flowers beautifully veined, they have a delightful shape. Wouldn’t they make charming Christmas tree ornaments? I believe this is Abutilon pictum, which is a species native to Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, and Uruguay.
