REFEREEING OPPORTUNITIES 2014 Basketball New Zealand is seeking expression of interest for referees to officiate at the following events: The WBC league for 2014. The league will consist of three tournaments with venues to be confirmed, as follows: Tournament 1 – May 2-4 (Canterbury TBC) Tournament 2 – June 6-8 (Auckland TBC) Tournament 3 – July 31-August 2 (Porirua TBC) A panel will be selected to officiate at all three tournaments. Preference will be given to referees who we believe have the potential to make the NBL panel or are on the NBL panel with the potential to progress. This panel will receive education over the course of the competition by myself, Peter Rodgers (WBC Referee Manager) and Alan Godden (NBL Referee Manager). There will be no game fees paid for the competition, but all travel and accommodation costs will be met. Referees will be required to travel on the evening prior to the commencement of each respective tournament and must be available to referee for the full duration of the competition.
