The word refinement needs a Scriptural definition in the context of the Christian faith. When we say refined, we mean educated, cultured, with good taste and manners, elegant. All these should characterize a Christian, but one may have them all and not be a Christian. The refined Christian has been in the furnace of Gods testing and has come out purged of dross and purified by the fire. His gold is refined, not mixed with an alloy.
