REFLECTION As I passed by this rectangular box Covered with a lettered cloth I thought was just a mere box But to my ignorance its a coffin That gives a ride but ones To a destination of no return I began to reflect When shall I be given this ride Is it today or morrow? Is it when I shall be fully ready for this journey? Is it when I shall be among the successful? Is it when is it? Could not find any concrete answer I began to reflect What have you prepared for this journey? As the path is thorny And you need no money Or your good family But only a sincere good deed I took some steps ahead I began to reflect Who will narrate my demise? When my soul shall depart my flesh On the ground I shall be laid Maybe foreigners will give me bath I shall be shrouded all white On the shoulders Ill be taken With hurry to my final abode I began to reflect Who will be that man to lay me in my grave? Who will be there to help me answer my questions? Who will be there to keep me company? Who will help me confront the two angels? Who will and who will I began to reflect The good deeds you sent forward shall be your company The pillars you erect shall be by your side The charities and night prayers shall be your light The Quran you did befriend shall be your intercessor I began to reflect What have I done so far? As my day is getting nearer And my bag is empty The enemy I took as an ally The world as my pride My desire as my master I began to reflect Repent and never relent Forgive and forget Give and dont expect anything in return Be proactive and desist procrastination With hope and despair as your wings To be stable in the air As none shall be safed from the pangs of death But with Allahs mercy there shall be ease I beseech His mercy on my day When I shall drink my own cup With my family and the Muslim folk To be satisfied with thy mercy as You are the most Merciful Aameen!!
