REFUSE TO DISCOUNT YOURSELF “And Jabez called on the God of Israel, saying, Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed, and enlarge my coast, and that thine hand might be with me, and that thou wouldest keep me from evil, that it may not grieve me! And God granted him that which he requested.”1 Chronicles 4:10 (KJV) We are told of the story of Jabez a man whose name meant sorrow. His case was bad, but the man refused to give up on himself. Jabez realized that it was only God who could change his situation. So he called upon the God of Heaven to bless him. He took responsibility for his own life and was specific in his request. Take a look again at our text. It says – ...and Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying Oh that thou wouldest bless me indeed and enlarge my coast, ... Beloved, we are told that God granted him his request. He got the type of blessing that made mockery of all the pain and sorrow he had ever gone through in life. Beloved, refuse to discount yourself. Like I would always say, never write off a man who is still breathing because he can spring surprises. In addition, always watch what you say about yourself no matter what you are going through. Remember that your words are powerful. Learn to speak what you want to see not your fears or doubts. It is better to say nothing than to cancel what God is doing in your life with your mouth. Hebrews 4:6 says that for without faith it is impossible to please God for He that cometh to Him must first believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. Did you see that? Dont settle for anything less than what God has in store for you. Learn to trust Him for what He says He will do and something beyond your wildest imagination will happen to you. The Lord will turn around your captivity and make impossible situations in your life possible. You will not be denied. I will hear your testimony.
