REGISTER EARLY FOR KINDERGARTEN AT KINDERGARTEN ROUND UP ON FEBRUARY 27 The Dysart Unified School District will register students for kindergarten for the 2014-2015 school year at Kindergarten Round Up, to be held on Thursday February 27, from 5-7 p.m., at each District elementary school. Kindergarten Round Up is an ideal time for parents to register their kindergarten students, learn about Dysart’s full-day kindergarten classes, and experience the excitement at the schools. Kindergarten Round Up is designed to be a friendly, organized evening where parents can move through the registration process easily and typically takes less than one hour. School office staff will verify that all paperwork is completed in the registration packet and health personnel will review immunization records. Free immunizations will be available at the Dysart Health Clinic at Dysart Elementary School on the evening of Kindergarten Round Up from 5-7 p.m. While parents are encouraged to participate in the Round Up process, new kindergarten students may be registered at their schools following the event. The sooner parents register, the easier it is for the campus to allocate needed classroom space and ensure appropriate staffing. Students must be 5 years old BEFORE September 1 to be eligible for kindergarten. To register, a parent must be present and provide government-issued photo identification. The following documents are required for registration: original birth certificate or official certified copy, proof of immunization (shot records), proof of residence (utility bill, lease, or purchase agreement), and custody or guardianship papers and/or any other court documents.
