REGRETABLE ACTION................. Ignorance isnt an excuse in the court of law. As it is generally said. In the year 1998 when General Sanni Abacha died, there was a wide jubilation at every corner of the nation which includes my immediate enviroment. As a young chap with not much knowledge of the country situation nor the basic requirement of good governance, i joined millions of nigerian in jubilation. Today i regret doing so. After conducting thorough research on abacha period as head of state i discover he is a saint compared to the current administration. Many nigerian will be pondering on what led to my submission and question the rational of the writter after been brainwash that abacha commits crimes of immeasurable rate, but the truth is that the current administration has committed more unforgivable crimes than abacha did. Majority of nigerians will complain that killings was rampage during abacha regime, i will argue that abacha kills those who he sees as a threat to his throne and not innocent nigerians like we ar witnessing now. Many nigerians do complain that stealing of public fund is the order of the day during abacha regime, i will argue that the rate of stealing in this regime is far higher than that of abacha regime. Even we were told in this regime that stealing is nothing since it is not a corruption. Many will argue that abacha is a dictator, i will say this regime is more than been a dictator, a regime where 7reps impeached the speaker out of 26reps. In which the constitution stated it clearly that only the 2/3 has the power to do so. Economiy, standard of living, security, and every other requirement of a good gorvernance is far better during abacha regime than the current regime. If so why are nigerians scolding abacha? Isnt that hypocrisy? Tajudeen Habeeb
