REGULATORY UPDATE - Week 4 (Order #36 + 4 weeks). Its now been four weeks since APSC issued Order #36 granting rehearings to SWEPCO and STO. The ball remains in the APSCs court with their promised delivery of a Procedural Schedule for the rehearing process. As of yesterday, 7/7/14, the schedule has not been released. However, all has not been quiet on the battlefront. Last week SWEPCO attorney Dave Matthews wrote the Commission Secretary and informed them SWEPCO and SPP would need to delay until at least end of January 2015 the presentation of the additional data the Commission requested in Order #36. In my opinion, this shifts the whole process into super slow gear (like a truck climbing a really steep hill). Links to Matthews letter and APSC Order #36 are included for convenience of our readers. Because of the Matthews letter, dont expect anything of real consequence anytime soon. It seems reasonable to expect APSC or their Staff to issue something soon to enlighten the interested parties on the state of affairs but I would be surprised if it contains any kind of a timetable.
