REJOICE IN THE LORD.... EXODUS 14:1-12. The Israelites were between a rock and a hard place - THE RED SEA ON ONE SIDE AND THE EGYPTIAN ARMY ON THE OTHER. And though the Israelites had already seen God do great miracles in Egypt, it must have been hard for them to wait and see how God would save them from this ominous situation. Our situations may seem just as hopeless, but nothing is a hopeless dead end for God. Cast thy burden upon the LORD, and he shall sustain thee: he shall never suffer the righteous to be moved...Psalms 55:22. ●GOD WILL ALWAYS PROVIDE A DOOR LEADING TO THE NEXT STEP IN HIS PLAN.● In all their fear the Israelites cried out to God for help. Their terrified complaints show that their faith in God was limited. Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness...Isaiah 41:10. But at least they took the right first steps - THEY ADMITTED THAT THEY WERE POWERLESS IN THE SITUATION AND THEN LOOKED TO GOD FOR HELP. Humble yourselves therefore under the mighty hand of God, that he may exalt you in due time: Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you...1st Peter 5:6-7. The Israelites were honest about what they were feeling. As a result, their discouragement and fear were soon turned into amazement and rejoicing. My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations; Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience. But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing...James 1:2-4.
