REJOICE WITH ME Many of you have been aware of our long and painful journey during the past four years. But fewer of you knew that, alongside the assaults from frenemies and foes, my wife has also been battling with cancer for the past 4.5 years. Last week she underwent another battery of tests and cat-scans. While awaiting the outcome of the tests, we claimed God’s promises; we also asked Him for grace to accept His will for our lives, and for courage to trust Him everyday, come what may. That petition was our prayer throughout the week, even as I was engaged in a special one-week radio broadcast themed “One Day At A Time” (subtitled “Lessons from the Life of Elijah”). This past Sabbath, on the very last day of the radio broadcast, we received the final report from my wife’s doctor, declaring her cancer-free! What a joyful relief! Our Lord is so gracious! He answers the prayers of His children. Join us in praising Him for His healing mercies. We are very grateful. It has also been a very humbling experience to know the depth of love and care from so many of you during this difficult time! King David asked: “What shall I render to the Lord for all His benefits toward me?” (Psalm 116:12). For me, the answer is best expressed by Kay Collins, in her beautiful poem titled “I Will Trust Him.” It’s the poem I read everyday to conclude each morning’s radio broadcast. Let that be your response, too—whatever your situation may be: I Will Trust Him When I cannot see my way clearly— I will trust Him who loves me dearly. For He knows what is best— In Jesus, I find rest. When my strength begins to fail— I will trust Him through stormy gale He’s the Master of my soul— And one day, He’ll make me whole. I will trust Him. I will trust Him. I will trust Him, day and night— For He’ll make all things right. I will trust Him. I will trust Him. Every day, come what may— I will trust Him.
