We have a couple of classic titles to announce this week - first up, the Australian debut of Hideaki Annos pre-Evangelion steam-punk masterwork, NADIA: SECRET OF BLUE WATER... youtu.be/5t8sN_dsE1A Its the end of the 19th century and a nerdy yet courageous young inventor crosses paths with an enigmatic young girl who carries with her an ancient jewel. Cue a slapstick villainous trio and a madman hell-bent on stealing the jewel and unraveling the mysteries of the Blue Water, restoring the Atlantean Empire and leading the world into the new century. Based on Jules Vernes 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, scored by Shiro Sagisu (who also worked on Neon Genesis Evangelion) and with eye-popping animation from the legendary GAINAX studios; we are very pleased to present this 90s classic for the first time in Australia! Remember when anime was painted with ink and blood/sweat/tears? We do. It ruled. This is a sterling example... This will be a complete series release (sans movie, sorry) over 8 DVDs. Blu-ray is still a possibility, but we wont know for sure until next year. In stores January 2015!
