It has been brought to our attention that inquires have been made regarding Jeff’s eligibility to be on the November ballot since he is currently serving on active duty. Pursuant to paragraph 4.2.4.1. of DoDD1344.10,” Any enlisted member on active duty may seek, hold, and exercise the functions of a nonpartisan civil office as a notary public or member of a school board, neighborhood planning commission, or similar local agency, provided that the office is held in a non-military capacity and there is no interference with the performance of military duties.” Simply stated, yes Jeff is eligible. The Campaign is operating under these guidelines and as a non-partisan candidate, he has garnered the appropriate signatures via petition of James Monroe residents, registered to vote in the District. This campaign is focused on issues concerning residents of the James Monroe District and working towards solutions that would improve our quality of life. Jeff is committed to focusing on local concerns through a non-politicized, open and honest approach. Thus the committee is keeping to this focus. Jeff has a plan and is ready for action.
