REMEMBERING SURASH ANANDAN: Hes gone, 14 years ago, rather tragically in a rare Singapore Airlines Flight 006 crash in Taipei, Taiwan. But cabin crew stalwart Surash Anandan, better known as one of Singapores legendary footballers from the Kallang Roar era of the late 70s and early 80s, will never be forgotten. His memory lingers on and every year, family and friends, light candles and chant prayers to assure that Surash Anandan remains an unforgettable vision. This Friday, October 31, at 7.30pm, the Anandan family will conduct Hindu prayers at the Yishun Temple (Holy Tree Sri Subramaniar Temple at Yishun Avenue 2) and on Sunday, November 9, the annual memorial football match, between SIA Cabin Crew and Sembawang Old Boys, will be played at 5.00pm at SIA Sports Club, Upper Changi Road. If you have faith in friendship for Appi (his good ole kampong nickname), please join in restoring continuing memory for an unforgettable buddy, who gave his life for SIA and Singapore.
